Ed Moore helped me on Sat install my new flat fenders from Gen-Right. These things were not too bad to install, but the directions were a little off on what and were to cut.
Here are some pics from the install.
With the flairs removed.
Ed cutting, and no going back.
I think we need to remove this!
 Yes we did need to remove that, and cut the rock sliders some also.
Cut here!
This is the battery mount support. We had to cut part of this off to allow the inner fender well to be pushed back.
 This was not in the directions.
Final pop rivets to keep things from rattling.
Done - Drivers side
passenger side
need to get the light kit from Genright so I have better blinkers and running lights up front now.
But they look good.

I am going to get the Gen-Right side lignts and blinkers.
If I do not like the looks of those, I will go to the CJ style lights in the future. After cutting off the old fenders, what is another hole to cut into the sheet metal.
The fenders cost 680.00 after shipping and tax.

I have seen a lot of different flat fenders
I think the Gen-Rights have extra bracing however. I like them
680, now that is tempting

I do like the look.
The Rokmen flat fenders are a complete fender replacement, so you get to keep your original fender intact.
But you have to buy a cold air intake to make them fit also, so your cost there would end up over $800 on those.

Mac's CAI would work well with the Rokmen & also with Kilby OBA

I like a lot of Gen's stuff and when I had the TJ was thinking of doing the flat fenders up front.
I think that a lot of us got into the max articulation mindset during the TJ days but now I think I am rethinking those ideas. I do still think articulation is good but like everything else it has a limit to use by the common Jeep.
Do not get me wrong here, those who just rock crawl probably get more out articulation than most others but I still think that for everyday use on trails, going down trails of every description that that a limited articulation is better and using bigger tires that the flat fenders allow will get you more stability when you need it.
I ran a 3.5 inch Nth degree Jyro Joint lift with the stinger system on the TJ, and replaced the rear jyro joint arms with RE extreme duty arms as the flex was just too much for what I was looking for. I wanted a more planted rear end. Which the REs gave me. Although I feel the nth systemwas the best engineered lift I found, it was designed to give max flexibility at the expense of stability. But then that was the rage 5 years ago. I notice a lot more rigs now days with larger tires and less travel.
If you were to watch a YJ do a rock garden with a TJ it starts to make sense.
But then I guess that is just another opinion in the entire Lift it and get it done world of Jeeps.
Love that Gen Rite look of those Flatties.
